This fission occurs in paramoecium.

In this type, the body of paramoecium divides into two parts horizontally.

3. Longitudinal binary fission:

This fission occurs in euglena.

In this type, the body of euglena divides into two parts vertically.

In this case, the parent cell divides to form many daughter cells.

Ex.: Amoeba undergoes multiple fission in unfavourable conditions for reproduction.

3. Budding:

In this case, small outgrowth ( bud ) forms on parent cell.
