Methods of asexual reproduction in plants-
- Budding - In this method, parent cell produces another cell on its surface. Another cell takes nutrition from the parent and grows as a bulge. It detaches on total growth.
Eg. Budding in Yeast.
- Fission - The parent cell divides into two daughter cells. The process involves following steps, Parent Cell → Karyokinesis → Cytokinesis → Constriction Formation → Two Daughter Cells. In Binary fission cell divides into two while in Multiple, it divides into many daughter cells.
Eg. Binary - Amoeba and Multiple - Plasmodium
- Spore Formation - This is a process that generally occurs in Fungi not in plants. Bulb like structure is present on the end of plant which eventually bursts and spreads the spores on other spots that starts to grow.
Eg. Bread Mould ( Fungi )
- Vegetative Propagation - Another plant is grown on the same plant. It detaches accidently and on contact with soil, it starts to grow again as new.
Eg. Bryophyllum
