Answer: Resources can be classified as Biotic and Abiotic on the basis of origin:-
Resources obtained from the biosphere, like forests, wildlife, fisheries, livestock, human beings, etc., which have life, are called biotic resources.
Resources that are obtained from non-living things are called abiotic resources. Iron, copper, gold, and lead are abiotic resources.
Resources can be divided into two categories on the basis of tier availability. These two categories are renewable and non renewable resources. On the basis of their origin, resources can be classified as biotic resources and abiotic resources.
The word abiotic means aside from living things which means non living things such as fresh air, land and heavy metal etc. Abiotic resources are non-living things like land, water, air and minerals as gold, iron, silver and copper ets.
Those resources which are obtained from the biosphere are called biotic resources. These resources are obtained from forests, wildlife, human beings, fisheries and livestock etc. These resources are obtained by those things which have life. These are a type of natural resources which are derived from the biosphere not as abiotic resources which are obtained from non living things. Examples of biotic resources are animals, fishes, forests and marine organisms. Mineral fuels are also sometimes considered as biotic resources because they are also derived from organic matters.
