The main reason for low level of income of the majority of Indian people is unemployment and underemployment and the consequent low productivity of labour. Low labour productivity implies low rate of economic growth which is the main cause of poverty and inequality of the large masses of people.

Answer:
Inequality in India is increasing due to the spread of superstition among the people. Like for example:
- To keep the discrimination of people at the lowest level.
- Abusing the poor.
- In some public places untouchability is associated with people of lower caste.
- Some people even discriminate between girls and boys. This is the most tragic incident for us.
