Basic activities like walking and writing on a surface are possible due to friction. Hence it is considered as a necessary evil .1. Friction between our shoes and the floor stop us from slipping.

Friction is said to be a necessary evil because it is useful as well as harmful. Friction helps to walk write,hold things, lift objects. So it is necessary in our lives. Without friction many essential processes cannot be done. On the other hand, it is also necessary at sometimes results in loss of energy wear and tear of parts of machinery, due to which it also damages things. So it is an essential evil.

  1. without friction we can't write work and transmit energy from one place to another friction is used in gripping holding objects with our hands climbing a ladder or a tree etc
  2. it is responsible for wear and tear of various parts of machines like screws,bell bearings or soles of shoes.
