TO PROVE THAT SOUND NEEDS A MEDIUM FOR PROPAGATION .

MATERIALS REQUIRED

ELECTROMAGNETIC BELL , VACUUM PUMP , GLASS JAR .

PROCEDURE

 1 ) ON THE ELECTROMAGNETIC BELL .

2 ) MAKE SURE IT IS IN AN HORIZONTAL PLANE .

 3 ) COVER IT WITH A GLASS JAR .

4 ) WITH THE HELP OF A VACUUM PUMP , SUCK OUT THE AIR COVERING THE ELECTROMAGNETIC BELL INSIDE THE JAR

OBSERVATION

AS SLOWLY THE AIR IS SUCKED OUT , THE SOUND OF THE BELL DECREASES . AT ONE POINT OF TIME , WHEN THE AIR IS FULLY SUCKED OUT , WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HEAR THE SOUND .

CONCLUSION / RESULT

SOUND NEEDS A MEDIUM FOR PROPAGATION .

ALL THE BEST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
