Western ghats have evergreen forests because they receive very high rainfall as rainfall enters in india through regions of western ghats and westward sides of ghats block the clods which shed their rain there.
But, due to blockage by aravali Mountain range the rain bearing clouds cannot shed much rain in regions of gujarat the region becomes rain deficient and turns into deserts.
The mountains in western ghats help in rain and aravalis in gujarat region block the clouds to enter that region turning it into a desert vegetation.
