Answer: p type semiconductor are those in which majority charge carrier are hole (positive charge) When the trivalent impurity is added to an intrinsic or pure semiconductor (silicon or germanium), then it is said to be an p-type semiconductor. Trivalent impurities such as Boron (B), Gallium (G), Indium(In), Aluminium(Al) etc are called acceptor impurity.
An N-Type semiconductor is created by adding pentavalent impurities like phosphorus (P), arsenic (As), antimony (Sb), or bismuth (Bi). A pentavalent impurity is called a donor atom because it is ready to give a free electron to a semiconductor.
