basic industries are the backbone industries which supports the consumer industries by supplying the raw material to the consumer industry it is different as it does not make direct contact with consumers but indirectly it is in contact with consumer where is consumer industries are in direct contact with consumers in my point of view the priority must be given to backbone or basic industries as it supplies the basic needs for consumer industries
