Explain with suitable examples importance of anatomical evidences in evolution. Answer the question.

Connecting link refers to the characteristics which are possessed by animals belonging to different species. A connecting link between two animals suggests that one of them must have evolved from the other , and is thus sharing the same characteristics .

Some connecting links which are important are- peripatus( link between arthropods and the annelids ) , protopetrus( where connecting link is between fishes and amphibians, an example being of lung fish), Chimaera, and so on.
