unsaturated hydrocarbons carbon and hydrogen in the presence of catalyst to give saturated hydrocarbon this process is called addition reaction
it is used to prepare vegetable ghee from vegetable oil. vegetable oil such that groundnut oil , cotton seeds oil and mustard oil are unsaturated and also contain double bonds .
on hydrogenation in the presence of Nickel as catalyst vegetable oil produces vanaspati ghee

Vegetable oils are unsaturated compounds
Hydrogen is added to them to make ghee which is a saturated compound
Vegetable oil(unsaturated) + H ------- ghee(saturated)
