Oxygen is required for burning ....
It can be proved by a simple activity....
Place a burning candle in a glass jar.
It will burn for sometime and then you will notice that the candle gets extinguished.
This happened because all the oxygen present in the jar got used up in burning resulting in the extinguishment of the fire.
