Material required : water, beaker, a few crystals of potassium permanganate
Procedure :
(a) Take a few crystals of KMnO4 and dissolve them in 100ml of water in a beaker. Mark this solution as A
(b) Take 10ml of this solution A in another beaker or test tube and add it into 90ml of water. Mark this solution as B.
(c) repeat the activity four time down the colour that change everything
Observation :
(a) We obtain a purple colour solution after the adding KMnO4 to the water
(b) After each dilution, colour solution get faded as potassium permanaganate
particle get decreased per unit volume
Conclusion :
this activity prove that the potassium permanganate are made up of small particle which keep on sepreading in the water by the process of diffusion
