yes rest and motion are relative terms.... but a thing struck in every body's mind that how... so answer is they both require a force to be applied I will explain it with example... so let's take a football... if we will kich it only then it will move or in other language we apply force to move it.. similarly when we place our leg in front of the ball it will stop or we apply force to stop it.... it is just the Newton's first law.... hope you like
