SOLUTION:- (a)

  • When a carbonate and bicarbonate reacts with an acid it forms Salt + CO2 + H2O
  • Marble contains Calcium Carbonate, and HCl is acid.
  • CaCO3+2HCl ---> CaCl2 + CO2 + H2O

SOLUTION:- (b)

  • Not all metals raect with bases, but Zinc and Aluminium react with Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH)
  • NaOH is a base which when reacts with zinc forms a compound known as Sodium Zincate (Na2ZnO2) with a release of H2 gas.
  • 2NaOH + Zn ------> Na2ZnO2 + H2
