• some traits are not being inherited from parents to their offspring and such traits are called non - mendelian inheritable traits, mendelian traits are transfered from parents to offsprings for example - eye colour, hair colour.

example for non- mendelian traits - birth by disease,injury,accidental injuries and various diseases.

one such fammous example is of,from civilisation in various cultures, ear piercing has been a tradition in various parts of the world, many generations of a family follows this....but the offsprings produced were normal with no ear pierced as this was a acquired character or work done after bitrth.

The traits which are acquired during the lifetime of a person are called acquired traits.So, these traits cannot be passed on to the next generation. For example, learning skills like swimming, dancing, cooking, body building, etc. are acquired traits and cannot be passed on to the next generation
