X rays are a form of electromagnetic radiation as are radio waves,unframed radiation,visible light,ultra violet radiation and microwaves .one of the most common and beneficial uses of X rays is for medical imaging also.

X-Rays-

• X-rays are electromagnetic radiations.
• X-rays were discovered by Wilhelm Roentgen, for which he got Novel Prize in Physics.
• X-rays are also called Roentgen rays.
• These rays are form when cathode rays strike heavy dense materials.
• These radiations have extremely short wavelengths ranging from 0.1 to 10 nanometres.
• They are emitted by atoms when electrons fall from a higher energy shell to a lower energy shell.
• X-rays have high energy.

• They are used in medicine for medical diagnosis.
• They are used in industry to check the quality of many mass-produced goods.
• They are used in airports to check luggage.
• Scientists and archaeologists also use x-rays to examine materials.
