Lungs is a respiratory organ in human beings. It helps in the process of respiration.
The air enters inside the human body through external nostrils and passes through the wind pipe or trachea. Trachea branches into two bronchi which enters into the lungs. The branches of bronchi is known as bronchioles. Each bronchioles ends up with a sac like structure called alveoli.
The alveoli contains numerous blood capillaries , these transport the air or oxygen to various cells of the by dissolving it in blood.
