in a triangle sides length should be
c²=a²+b²
3,4,5 is an example
c is the hypothesis
a is the opposite side
b is the adjacent side

pythagoras theorem is
hypotenuse^2=side 1^2+side 2^2

example-
hypotenuse^2=3^2+4^2
=9+16
=25
therefore hypotenuse =root of 25.
hypotenuse=5.
