The poem "Skater" by Ted Kooser talks about a woman who is skating on the ice. The poet describes her vigorous character as she swoops through the ice surface.

The poet says that she was all clothed in black except for her yellow pony tail which tailed from her cap and her bright blue gloves. It made her look as if she came all prepared to skate in the ice.
