The poem tells about independent India and the emotions of the people after 1947.
EXPLANATION:
The poem ‘migration’ as the name indicates about moving from one place to another. Even after independence, India has its own difficulties like drought and plague. The new problem called caste division arises after independence.
In this poem, the poet tells the story of a king and his son (prince) who wanted to study medicine in Bombay. After completing his degree, the son wanted to migrate to Mumbai (Bombay) but the parents did not agree. He struggled to live alone without seeing his parents and his grandmother. It was his worst period.
The author has also mentioned the Parsis who lived in India at that time. It was a very common thing for them, they can migrate wherever they want, marry whoever they want and women also have more freedom in their community.
