osmosis is the process of movement of solvent( water) from higher conc to lower conc.
when raisins are put in salt soln the water tends to move outside( exosmosis) due to lower conc of water in salt soln as compared to inside the raisins. similarly when raisins are put in water they tend to absorb water( endosmosis) as higher conc of water now is ouside as compared to that inside the raisins.
