- the atom is made up of three particles: electrons, protons, and neutrons .
- the protons and neutrons are present in nucleus at the centre of the atom
- tbe electrons revolve rapidly round the nucleus in a fix circular path called shells
- thercis a limit of the number of electrons which each shell can hold
- each shell is associated with a fix amount of energy
there is no changes in the energy of electrons as long as they keep revolving in the same shell and the atom remain stable
