The Bedas of Halagali staged a fierce rebel against the British for a number of reasons. The British had grabbed their land and displaced them from what they believed was their ancestral land, so they had to resist. The British had taken over their freedom, one could not possibly move around without being questioned

hulagali is a small village of mughal taluk of Belgium district. in 1857 CE , the British banned the usage of weapons. the bedas who always kept guns as part of customs and they were good hunters. they rebelled against the British when they were asked to surrender their fire arms . the bedas of mantru , bodani , Aalagundi and others joined hulagali bedas.
