A human cell has
chromosomes present in a nucleus.
there are 23 pairs or 46 chromosomes in every normal human cell.
Out of these 2 chromosomes (or 1 pair) are sex chromosomes.these chromosomes are called sex chromosomes.
An female has 2X chromosomes and male has one X and one Y chromosome
Each gamete(reproductive cells which are sperms or ovum) has one chromosome.
An egg has X chromosome and sperm has either X or Y chromosome.
If a sperm containing X chromosome fertilizes the egg,the zygote would have 2 X chromosomes and would develop into a female.
If sperm containing Y chromosome fertilizes the egg,the zygote would have one X and one Y chromosome and would develop into a male.
