Express 0.6 bar in the form of p by q

Hi ,

Let x = 0.6666....----( 1 )

Multiply ( 1 ) with 10 , we get

10x = 6.6666.......( 2 )

Subtract ( 1 ) from ( 2 ) we get ,

9x = 6

x = 6/9

x = 2/3 ( p/q form )

Therefore ,

x = 0.666.... = 2/3

Let x the number be 6.

10x = 6.6. ( multiply by 10 with 6 and take the number after the point)

10x-x= 6.6-0.6

9x= 6

x= 6/9

x= 2/3.........( Divided by 3)
Therefore our p/q form is 2/3..
