3/7 is a rational number whose numerator is 3.
And, we have to convert it's numerator to 6.
So, we multiply 2 in numerator as well as denominator because if we will not multiply the denominator with the same number then it will equivalent fraction.

So,

3 × 2 / 7 × 2
6 / 14.
