We can turn any improper fraction, into mixed fraction by the following method -

improper \:  \: fraction =  \frac{a}{b } \:  \:  \:  \: (a > b)

Now, we have to divide the numerator (a) by denominator (b), and in this division :

Divisor = Initial denominator = b

Quotient = c (say)

Remainder = d (say)

Then,

mixed \:  \: fraction = c \frac{d}{b}

Similarly,

From the given improper fraction(⁵/₂), we will be dividing the Numerator (5) by Denominator (2). We will get -

2)5(2
