__

let x =1.323 -----------(1)

Multiplying by 100 both sides

__

100x = 132.323 ----------(2)

Subtracting eqn (1) from eqn (2)

__ __

100x-x = 132.323-1.323

99x = 131

x = 131/9

Let x = 0.407------------(1)

Multiplying by 10 both sides

10x = 4.07 --------------(2)

Subtracting eqn (1) from eqn (2)

_ _

10x-x = 4.07 - 0.407

9x = 3.663

x = 3.663/9

Answer: 1) x = 1.3(23)                    -i      I AM TAKING BAR AS BRACKETS

                multiplying by (i) 10

               10x = 13.(23)                   -ii

               multiplyng (i) bu 1000

               1000x = 1323.(23)           -iii

              (iii)-(ii)

       1000x-10x=1323.(23)-13.(23)

       990x=131

       x=131/990

               ANS- 1.3(23)=131/990

2)x=0.40(7)                 -i

multiplying by (i) 100

100x=40.(7)                      -ii

multiplying by (i) 1000

1000x=407.(7)               -iii

iii-ii

10x=407-40

10x=367

x=367/10

ANS- 0.40(7)=367/10
