Here is ur questions answer:

⇒   tan(x) = sin(x) / cos(x) 

⇒ sin(x)^2 + cos(x)^2 = 1 

⇒ sin(x)^2 = 1 - cos(x)^2 

⇒ sin(x) = √(1 - cos(x)^2) 

⇒ tan(x) = √(1 - cos(x)^2) / cos(x)
