Multiply eq 1 by 100

100y = 35. 353535..... -----(2)

Subtract eq (1) from (2)

100y - y = 35. 353535 - 0.353535

99 y = 35

y = 35 / 99 ----------(3)

GIVEN: 1. 32 (bar on 2) + 0.35 (bar on 35)

Put the value of x and y from above

= 119 / 90 + 35 / 99

= (119× 11 + 35 × 10) / 990
