ax + by +c=0 --------(1)
x= 3y -------(2)
now,
put the value of 'x' from(2) in,
equation -(1);
you will get,
a*3y +by +c=0
3ya +by= -c (take 'y' comman)
y(3a + b)= -c
Now your equation has turned to one variable(in variable 'y')
