1/ 3 + √2

The Rationalisation factor for 3 + √2 is  3 - √2 . Therefore , multiplying and dividing by 3 - √2 we have :

= 1 × (3 - √2)/ (3 + √2) (3 - √2)

= (3 - √2)/ (3² - √2²)

[By using the identity : (a + b)(a - b) = a² – b²]

= (3 - √2)/ (9 - 2)

= (3 - √2)/7
