let the breadth be X

so length of rectangle is 4+X

perimeter of rectangle is 168 metre

perimeter of rectangle=2(L+B)

168=2(X+4+X)

168=2(4+2X)

168=8+4X

4X=168-8

4X=160

X=160/4

X=40

so breadth of rectangle is 40 metre

and length of rectangle is 4+40

44 metre
