10x=4.73
1000x=473.73

subtract 1 from 2
1000x-10x=473.73-4.73
990x=469
x=469/990

giti1: in the first step i took 10x=4.73 then i took 100x=473.73

am656534pbwlev: look whn 10x = 4.73 okay 100x means you are multiplying x with 100 so you will have to multiply the value of x that's 0.473 with 100, the mistake here is that you are multiplying 100 to X and on the same multiplying the value of 10x with 100 which is wrong, yiu got me or not?
