Given x = 3y,
The given equation can be written as
x - 3y + 0 = 0 ... (1)
or 1 x + (-3 y,) + 0 = 0, which is of the form ax + by + c = 0
where a = 1, b = -3, c = 0
Now put y = 0 in equation(1)
x - 3(0) + 0 = 0
⇒ x = 0
now put y = 1
x - 3(1) + 0 = 0
⇒ x = 3

Hi ,
x = 3y
x - 3y = 0
x + ( -3 ) y + 0 = 0
Compare this with ax + by + c = 0
a = 1 , b = -3 , c = 0
I hope this helps you.
