Often a healthy competition is a good catalyst for progress.
A competition forms among a group of students in the same league or among multiple organizations for marketing and sales. Healthy competition is good whereas unhealthy, cheating or biased competition does not result in progress.
Any person performs up to the level that is needed at that moment of performance. When there is a competition, one tries to exceed his/her own earlier performance to display the best. The person tries to extend own capabilities in order to win and earn fame or money. In a normal performance situation, this drive or incentive does not exist. Hence there is no motivation to perform better.
Further, in some situations competition means survival of the person in a field. So the person tries to go to the maximum extent to perform and brings out more than ever. Without a healthy competition, the person may maintain the same or below normal performance level.
Unhealthy competition in a market may result in small organizations to close. The big organizations can use their influence and high capital to force products of small local organization's products out of market.
Nowadays, in individual and organizational competitions, there seems to be a lot of unhealthy competition. Influential and strong persons and strong organizations are having unequal capabilities and opportunities in competitions. Hence, the progress in today's world is not so good as expected.
Today's world is one of cut throat competition, where people struggle to run down each other and step on them to move up higher. The world has become a place where no one feels for other person or wants to adjust for another person. No one is ready to sacrifice. It is a never ending fight to reach the top. While doing this ,people tend to forget the values in life, or to spend time with their family. This should n't happen. Time once passed can never be taken back. While healthy competition enhances progress, the kind of competition that we are engaged in nowadays can only create problems, and alienate us from each other.

The essay is written below:
Explanation:
If you want to achieve your goal, make sure you have it completely because there are thousands of people out there (remembering the number of people in India) who want the same goal and who will go out to achieve their goal. This is where the competition comes in; many people are afraid of it, many people are against it but most people do not know its value.
Competition makes your goal a living thing; ignite that fire within you to make your dream come true. Many people dream of a new dream every day or cling to their old dream but the reason why they fail is because of a lack of better preparation for the competition. For example, if a writer knows that there are 80 people out there dreaming the same dream, he will try to improve his writing skills, expand his vocabulary and do all the other things to make it perfect. This is called preparing for competition in the right way, however, when a person knows the race but tries to win it illegally then that race becomes unworthy of him and even though it results in progress, it is not worth winning.
I'm talking about a healthy competition but not one that involves cheating and murder. Economics taught us that human needs are endless. So be careful that you do not allow your inner fire to consume the good qualities of others.
Healthy competition leads to process. Progress like this: increase in a single skill, increase in employment ability leading to increased leadership ability. When competition is considered healthy, it leads to national progress. Think of the Olympic Games because they are the result of competition that has made our countries stand out in many sports.
Outside of games, the area where competition is most intense is in the testing period. When you compete against thousands of individuals, you are only fooling yourself and getting to know where you stand in the crowd.
This is the main purpose of testing, to test your knowledge in a competitive way. I think students should be aware of the point "Competition is a part of life and not life itself". Sometimes a hunger for success makes your values go hungry.
