In my opinion, it is important to convey our gratitude to someone who has helped us because :
a) It was beacuse of them that we could achieve something.
b) When one helps us, we learn new things like how this and that is done.
c) It also encourages the other person to be helpful to others in the coming days.
d) If we don't appreciate, the other person's zeal is dissolved making him /her backslide in life. It creates doubt within him and makes him/ her question about one self.
e) Failing to express our gratitude makes us seem morally weak and uneducated.
