Expression for power developed due to wind

Wind Energy Formula
Wind energy is a renewable source of energy that calculates the total power in the wind. This energy is used to generate electricity or mechanical power. Here turbines are used which moves in wind power and converts the kinetic energy into mechanical power. This mechanical power is converted into electricity and acts as useful power.
The wind energy formula is given by,
P = 1212 ρρ A V33.
Where,
P is power,
ρρ is air density,
A is swept area of blades given by A = ππ r22where r is the radius of the blades,
V is the velocity of the wind.
Wind Energy Solved Problems
Below are some of the solved problems given, based on Wind Energy:
example :
Question 1: Calculate the power in the wind if the wind speed is 15 m/s and blade length is 60 m.
Solution:
Given: Wind speed v = 15 m/s, blade length l = 60 m, air density ρρ = 1.23 kg/m33.
The area is given by, A = ππ l22
A = ππ ×× 6022
A = 11309.7 m22
The wind power formula is given by,
P = 1212 ρρ A V33
P = 1212 ×× 1.23 kg/m33 ×× 11309.7 m22 ×× (15 m/s)
