Extended response: At the end of the video, why does the man compare the monkeys to humans?
Answers
The human brain is pretty picky about the things it pays attention to. Our senses are constantly bombarded by smells, colors, tastes, and sounds, which means that much of that information has to be filtered out, so we can focus on the stuff that matters — like the stuff that can keep us alive. But humans aren't the only animals who need to focus on certain cues to stay alive, so what, if anything, sets us apart?
As it turns out, when humans and macaques focus on the same task, more regions of the human brain are active, a small study published today in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences shows. The finding reveals that the human attention network probably expanded over time. And that's a pretty important piece of our evolutionary puzzle — especially given how often scientists use the macaque brain as a proxy for our own
Answer:
If we talk about the video, we see that the monkey gets angry because of being treated unequally. As she doesn't get the grape, she starts throwing the cucumbers too. She wants grapes because the other monkey is getting it too. Though, if you compare them to humans in this situation, we may get probably a lot of similarities.
Such as- when the other monkey sees that the first monkey is getting grapes rather than cucumbers, she tries to get them too. She does this because probably she must have been aware that grapes are much better than cucumbers. We humans also go for the better than the usual. We do this because we know that the better thing will give us more profit than the usual thing. Same did the monkey think, and tried to get grapes.
She even gets angry when she is not given the grape, even after doing exactly what the first monkey also did. We humans also get angry when we are treated unequally, even when the person which is being treated equally is the same as us. We tend to get angry because of this and this anger is caused by jealousy. We humans also feel jealous and try to get what we want, even if we have to get mad sometimes.
I completely agree to the speaker about comparing the monkey to humans. As we notice that we would have done the same, if it were for us.
