of the box. If the mass of the box is doubled and same force pulls it,what is the new acceleration ?

Explanation:

Given mass of the box (m) = 50kg

Force (F) action on box = 80N

Acceleration (a) = ?

Since Force (F) = mass (m) × acceleration (a)

⇒ a = F / m = 80 / 50 = 1.6 m/s2

If mass is doubled m1 = 2 × 50 = 100 kg

Acceleration (a) = 80 / 100 = 0.8 m/s2

Thus , acceleration will be halved if the mass is doubled.

Answer:

80 = 50 \times x \\ 80 \div 50 = x \\ 1.6 = x = a \\ now \: if \: double \: the \: w \\ then \:  \\ 80 = 100x \\ x =  \frac{4}{5}  = 0.8 \\ this \: is \: the \: a
