Abou adhem was a boy or the speaker. It was a book of leigh hunt entitled as Abou Ben adhem. Tribe means the ancient clans. Actually it means the ancient or very old features. So when Abou was small his mother and father read him that story. So his tribe increase means his memories or old thoughts began to rememorise in his mind.
