1. He was the chairman of the drafting committee which was formed by the Constituent Assembly in the year 1947 to draft a constitution for independent India.

2. Right from childhood, he experienced a lot of caste discrimination.

3. He founded the Bahishkrit Hitkaraini Sabha (Outcastes Welfare Association) which aimed at bringing the minority and weaker sections to a level.

4. In 1937, Dr. Ambedkar introduced a Bill to abolish the "khoti" system of land tenure in the Konkan region.

5. When Ambedkar Code Bill to the Constituent Assembly was not accepted, he terminated his designation of Law Minister.
