Exudation of sap in plants through the injured part is actually called Sap Exudation or sometimes, weeping.

It happens because of the hydrostatic pressure produced due to an accumulation of water in the root cells.

The exudate released is a mixture of different mineral salts, proteins, amino acids and has a rich amount of nutrients present.

The hydrostatic pressure developed in this process is called root pressure.
