When the eye ball becomes too short or lens get flattened, light rays instead of getting focussed on the retina, get focussed behind the retina. Hence, the image is formed behind the retina. This condition is called hypermetropia, also known as long-sightedness. In this disorder, vision of nearby objects gets blurred.
