Answer:

f(x)=-\frac{1}{3}x-8

Step-by-step explanation:

In this question we got two points of this function and we got that our function is a linear function.

What do linear functions look like? f(x)=ax+b

What do points look like in graphs and functions? (x,y)

(-6 , -6) , (-12 , -4) these are our two points.

First we have to find "a", "a" is our slope, it has a formula:

\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}=\frac{(-4)-(-6)}{(-12)-(-6)} =-\frac{1}{3}

Now, to find "b" you should just replace "f(x)" and "a" and "x" from one of our equations, for example I'm doing this with the first one.

f(-6)=-\frac{1}{3}(-6)+b, from this we will find out that "b" is "-8"

Hope you got it.
