Lava is molten rock generated by geothermal energy and expelled through fractures in planetary crust or in an eruption , usually at temperature from 700 to 1200 celcius . The structure resulting from subsequent solidification and cooling are also sometimes described as lava.

Intrusive rocks are formed from magma that cools and solidifies within the crust of the planet. When lava comes out of a volcano and solidifies into extrusive igneous rock, also called volcanic, the rock cools very quickly
