For you answer this question, you only need change (m) for (1/2). See the resolution below.

f(m) = m^2 - 3m + 1

f(1/2) = (1/2)^2 - 3(1/2) + 1

f(1/2) = (1/4) - (3/2) + 1

f(1/2) = (2 - 12)/8 + 1

f(1/2) = (-10/8) + (1/1)

f(1/2) = (-10 + 8)/8

f(1/2) = -2/8

f(1/2) = -1/4

Final result : f(1/2) = -1/4.
