Answer:

First number = x

Second number = x + 1

x + (x + 1) = 27

2x + 1 = 27

2x = 27 - 1

2x = 26

x = 13

First number = 13

Second number = 14

Total = 27

Hope this helps

Solution :

The sum of two consecutive numbers is 27. We have to find the bigger number.

Suppose that the smaller number is a .

The next consecutive number is a+1.

Their sum is 27

So

a + a + 1 = 27

>> 2a + 1 = 27

>> 2a = 26

>> a = 13

The next consecutive number is 14.

The numbers are 13 and 13 then. ( 13+14=27)

Answer : The bigger number is 14.
