sorry. the domain is wrong. f(x) is defined if x^2 - 1 is not equal to 0. that is x^2 is not equal to +/-1.so domain is all real numbers except +/-1.
range also 1/x^2 - 1=y, 1=x^2 y-y, 1+y/y=x^2. x= root of (1+y/y). y does not lie between - 1and 0.
